Kansas City, Missouri – February 6, 2017- The Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) women’s soccer team is proud to announce that they have landed two players on the 2016 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes list.  Senior's Sarah Porter and Witney Burns have received the national honor.

“It requires another level of self-discipline in order to be a student-athlete and both Sarah and Witney can always look back on their collegiate career knowing they finished the race well,” says head coach Paul Hason.

In order to receive a nomination, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale.  They must also have achieved a junior academic status to qualify for the honor.

In all of the NAIA, 578 women’s soccer student-athletes have been named 2016 Daktronics-NAIA-Scholar-Athletes.  Goshen (Indiana) leads all programs with 14 individuals on the list.
