SAGU vs TexWes rained out

Three-game series moved back two days

FORT WORTH, Texas  --  The three-game series between Southwestern Assemblies of God University and Texas Wesleyan University, originally set for today and Wednesday, has been rained out due inclement weather. The decision was reached this afternoon as approaching thunderstorms rolled into the Metroplex.

According to officials at both schools the doubleheader that was to be played today (April 2) has been rescheduled for Thursday evening, while Wednesday's solo game will take place on Friday night.

Fans are encouraged to support the Lady Lions, 11-12 overall, when they take on the Lady Rams, 13-17, for a series that has post-season implications.

The teams are currently fighting for a berth in the Red River Athletic Conference tournament. Only the top six teams receive a bid to participate. TWU is in sixth while SAGU is one spot behind them in seventh.

SAGU had a home doubleheader slated for Friday afternoon against Mid-America Christian University (7-19). It has either been cancelled or postponed. An announcement is forthcoming concerning the change.

The Lady Lions are presently planning a twinbill in Oklahoma City on Saturday against MACU, a day after the Lady Evangels were coming to Waxahachie. Stay tuned.

The official make-up specs for the SAGU-Wesleyan series now reads:

April 4 - Thursday @ TWU at 5:00 pm (DH)
April 5 - Friday @ TWU at 7:00 pm

The games will be played at Sycamore Park, which has lights.

Directions from Waxahachie:
Take Highway 287 west toward downtown Fort Worth. Exit Rosedale Avenue east. Turn left at the Sycamore Park entrance. The field (#3) is the third on the left.

Sycamore Park is located less than a mile from the Texas Wesleyan campus and has been the home for Lady Ram Softball since 1989.

The field has a capacity of 500. The dimensions of the field are 210-feet in left field, 225-feet in center field, and 205-feet in right field.
