lions-head-soloWAXAHACHIE, Texas  --  Things are much more quiet on the campus of Southwestern Assemblies of God University during the Christmas and New Years break than they will be in a few weeks. That doesn't mean little is happening behind the scenes.

Fans can expect to read plenty of news about SAGU Athletics during the holidays! Check in daily for the latest on the Purple Pride!

Here are a few headline stories to watch for on the SAGU Athletic website (here):

1) The NCCAA Announces the 2013 All-American Football Team  -  yes, Lions made it!

2) Relive SAGU's thrilling 38-34 comeback win over No. 25 Bacone College  -  video highlights in HD!

3) Interview with Dylan Moore  -  the Wide Receiver retells the came-winning TD in the final minute!

4) Ringing of the Salvation Army bells  -  SAGU athletes volunteer their time during the holidays

5) Q & A with the new SAGU Baseball Coach  Sam Blackmon and the new-look Lions

6) SAGU Lady Lions Softball Schedule released

7) Having Fun at the Y-M-C-A   -  a  SAGU team volunteered to conduct a clinic at the Waxahachie YMCA

8) Keeping Score  -  photos of the new softball and baseball scoreboards on the campus fields

9) Who is the Sooner Athletic Conference  -  Q & A with Ray Fink; a history and update on the NAIA's best league. Ray is the veteran Sports Information Director of the S.A.C.

BONUS: Previews of the Lions and Lady Lions hoopsters after the first semester

The basketball teams return to practice prior to their first game, January 2, at Oklahoma Baptist University. They have three games in five days to jumpstart the new semester!

Fans can anticipate the start of the new SAGU Sports Network broadcast schedule, which includes all home basketball games in HD. They debut on Saturday afternoon, January 4, when Mid-America Christian University visits the Sheaffer Center!

As for baseball and softball - they hold their first practice this semester on Monday, January 13, when classes resume.
