Winning season due to performance of student-athletes

Evers, Fox, Harris, Jackson, Maat, Sanchez, Satterwhite, Van Kempen named to team

WAXAHACHIE, Texas  --  During the post-season meeting of head coaches from the Central States Football League, the All-Conference Team and award winners were chosen.

The CSFL also announced its All-Academic Team, which included eight players from Southwestern Assemblies of God University.

Representatives qualified for selection by earning a 3.0 cumulative grade point average with a minimum of twelve completed hours of coursework at their current institution.

There were 51 student-athletes honored with their inclusion to the 2013 All-Academic Team.

The Lions reps are:

Kendal Evers, Senior Linebacker (Danbury, Tx / Danbury HS)
Justin Fox, Sophomore Offensive Lineman (Waxahachie, Tx / Waxahachie HS)
Joshua Harris, Senior Quarterback (Victorville, Cal / Victor Valley Christian HS)
Zach Jackson, Junior Defensive End (Wray, Colo / Wray HS)
Jeremiah Maat, Sophomore Linebacker (Slidell, La / Slidell HS)
Ramsey Sanchez, Junior Offensive Lineman (San Antonio, Tx / Cornerstone Christian)
James Satterwhite, Sophomore Quarterback (Red Oak, Tx / Red Oak HS)
Trevor Van Kempen, Sophomore Linebacker (Henderson, Nev / Mtn View Christian)

SAGU finished the 2013 season on November 16 with a 38-34 triumph over No. 25 ranked Bacone College (7-3). The Lions, 6-4, were second in the CSFL with a 4-1 league mark.
