Lions host Eagles on campus at noon

Women’s Soccer host special Game Day Concessions

WAXAHACHIE, Texas  --  The Southwestern Assemblies of God University baseball team earned a split of a doubleheader against Southwestern Christian University on Friday, both by 4-2 scores.

The Lions will host Southwestern Christian again on Saturday. The nine-inning game will be played on campus, starting at noon.

Scattered showers are expected to cover 40% of the area with a high temperature of 56 at game time. Northerly winds should be 11 miles per hour. Humidity at game time: 84 percent.

Freshman left-hander Pedro “Tres” Ortiz (Lorena, Tx / Lorena HS) will start the final.

Ortiz carries a 1-6 record and a 4.25 earned run average.

Head Coach Sam Blackmon made changes to the rotation when it was decided to rest two regulars this weekend.

SAGU is 13-16 overall and 4-7 in the Sooner Athletic Conference. The Eagles are 6-22 and 2-9 in the SAC.

Mandy Fortner, the Head Coach of the Lady Lions soccer team, has announced that her squad will be providing concessions during the game.

For Sale: Brisket tacos, snacks and drinks, along with T-Shirts ($12) will be available.

The funds raised will help support the team’s inner-city missions trip to San Francisco in May. Their total goal is $17,000. Donations will be accepted.

A complete review of the series will be posted on Saturday night.

SAGU will be at home on Tuesday night, March 25, for a nine inning game against Jarvis Christian College. The 6:00pm start will take place at the Waxahachie Sports Complex.
