Oklahoma City, Oklahoma – October 20, 2015 – Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) men’s soccer player, Robert Ambrosie , had his second hat trick of the season against Mid-America Christian University (MACU).  Ambrosie led his team to a 3-2 victory over the Evangels.   SAGU is now 2-4 in the Sooner Athletic Conference .

MACU was the first to score in the 11 th minute of the game.  The Evangel’s Gleydson Neri scored off of a penalty kick.

Just one minute 30 seconds later, SAGU’s Ambrosie scored his first goal of the contest after a show of great teamwork. Isai Bonilla passed a ball through the defense to Parker Sturgeon , who had an open shot, but decided to pass the ball across the goal to Ambrosie, who easily touched the ball in.  The score was tied 1-1.

10 minutes left in the first half, MACU scored again after a free kick from about half was headed off a MACU player on the left side of the box to Neri, who was on the right side of the box.  Neri then headed the ball in to make the game 2-1 at half.

“We always believed we could get something going in the second half and two well created goals by Robert won us the game, giving him his 2nd hat trick of the year,” says assistant coach Mark Meredith, “We have put ourselves in a great position moving forward with two great wins in the last 4 days, we now have 3 home games to play as we push hard to finish the season on a high note.”

In the 65 th minute of play, Bonilla plays an amazing ball across the box to Ambrosie who easily picks it out of the air to score the tying goal.

Just as the game looked like it would be going to overtime, Sturgeon passed to Ambrosie who scored again with 5:25 left in the game, putting SAGU up 3-2.
