Waxahachie, Texas – August 27, 2014 –Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) Advancement department launched a 3-week campaign allowing alumni and friends to show their LION PRIDE by donating $17 or more and receiving an 18” x 24” yard sign.

Devin Ferguson, Director of Alumni Relations, said, “SAGU would not be what it is today without the faithful contributions of our alumni and friends. As an alumnus myself, it’s a privilege and a responsibility to give back to the institution that gave me so much, and to support students who are now in the same place that I once was."

He continued, "Giving to the annual fund is a great way to help grow and sustain the Kingdom work being done, and it is an added bonus to be able to offer these sharp looking yard signs. They will let our community know that there are a great number of us who are proud to be SAGU alumni.”

SAGU Alumni have a lot to roar about. SAGU Digital Media Arts students placed first in iNRB film challenge; the jazz ensemble received a Superior Rating at the 13th annual Temple Jazz Festival; and SAGU is one of only 139 schools in the world to reach All-Steinway status. The education department demonstrates a 100 percent state certification passing rate, and the digital media arts students have produced two award-winning films.

A new two-story wellness center opened in 2010, and in Fall 2013 SAGU opened the state-of-the-art John & Diana Hagee Communication Center (HCC) to house the digital media, music and theatre programs. The HCC also houses a 600-seat performing arts auditorium and an Einstein Bros. Bagels. The new eatery offers a full selection of breakfast, lunch and dinner menu items beyond the traditional bagel. The new venue also provides a new place for campus family and the local community to work and study while enjoying hot and cold coffees, smoothies and more.
