Waxahachie, Texas – June 28, 2016 – Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) alumna, former music professor, and The Harvesters choir leader Patricia Ann Harmon (nee Englemann) passed away on June 17, 2016, at the age of 80.
Patricia and her husband of 52 years, James “Coach” Harmon, graduated from Southwestern Bible Institute (SBI; later renamed SAGU) in 1956 and 1957. In addition to their studies, both James and Patricia sang in SBI traveling ministry groups. Following graduation, Patricia taught at SBI in the Music Department and led The Harvesters .
Patricia was born in San Antonio, Texas , in 1936. She graduated from South Park High School in Beaumont, Texas . After completing an associate degree at SAGU, she attended Texas Wesleyan University (TWU) in Fort Worth, Texas , and was inducted into the Beta Kappa chapter of Sigma Alpha lota in March of 1957. In 1958, she graduated from TWU with a bachelor’s degree in Music with a concentration in piano. The Texas Wesleyan University Alumni Association conferred an Honorary Golden Anniversary Diploma on April 19, 2008.
She is survived by her husband, James Harmon; sons, Rob Harmon and wife Andrea Bell, Eric Harmon and Jason Harmon; brothers, Gilbert Engelmann and Larry Engelmann; aunts, Ethel Youngman and Syble Patterson; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, Jonathon Harmon; parents, Gilbert and Margaret Engelmann; brother, Gordon Engelmann; numerous aunts and uncles.
