Waxahachie, Texas — October 11, 2012 — Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) broke ground on the World Communication Center (WCC) on Friday, April 27, 2012. Since then, 3i Construction has relocated major utility feeds, finalized design and engineering for the footings, floor and structural steel, and drilled foundation piers. The foundation is underway and is expected to be completed by the end of October. Steel and stone will be delivered in October and placed in November.

Additionally, 3i is running storm drain and sanitary sewer lines across campus to the Sycamore Street/ Highland Street intersection. This addition will not only serve the new building but position the SAGU campus for future growth.

The 80,000-square-foot project will be the second-largest building on campus and is expected to be completed in Fall 2013. It will house a performance arts auditorium, black box theater, TV and film studio, audio recording studio, digital video editing lab and suites, piano lab, music library and listening lab, music practice rooms, classrooms, rehearsal halls, film screening/preaching and speech labs, offices, concessions, café, workshops, dressing rooms and more.

Good, Fulton & Farrell Interior Design (Dallas, Texas) has been contracted to assist with the interior design and finishes.

“We are very pleased to partner with GFF Interiors on the World Communications Center,” stated Vice President for Enrollment and Retention Eddie Davis. “GFF brings experience and expertise in the field of higher education interior design. Their work on this project along with additional design work across campus is going to make a significant impact in the years come.”
