SAGU alumna sings with Israel and New BreedWaxahachie, Texas - August 29, 2013 - Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) alumna Bethany Goodine sings for Christian music group Israel and New Breed (INB). During Summer 2013, the group completed a three-week tour through Europe and Asia. The group performed in Indonesia, England, Poland, Italy, the Netherlands, and Hungary.

Goodine shares, "The tour greatly expanded my perspective of the church on global scale, and it was an honor to be given the opportunity to worship with so many different cultures.”

Goodine became involved with Israel and New Breed through the429 church in Houston, Texas. "Many New Breed members serve and lead at the429. They invited me to be a part of the January 2012 'Jesus at the Center' live recording at Lakewood Church."

This recording received two Grammy nominations: Best Gospel Album and Best Contemporary Christian Music Song for the single “Your Presence is Heaven.” The Recording Academy awarded the group with Best Contemporary Christian Music Song at the 55th Annual GRAMMY Awards® in February 2013.

Goodine serves as a worship leader at the429, a growing young adult movement that began in March 2010. Goodine began serving at the429 in May 2010 when she moved to Houston and accepted a full-time position at Arrow Child and Family Ministries (ACFM), a Christian foster care and adoption agency in Spring, Texas.

As an Ambassador Family Specialist at ACFM, Goodine manages cases for children placed in foster or adoptive homes as well as interviewing and licensing prospective foster families. Goodine also leads worship for monthly chapel services at ACFM.

Goodine grew up in Stockton, Calif. She enrolled at SAGU in Fall 2006 and graduated in Fall 2009 with a Bachelor of Science in human services with a specialization in counseling. Goodine is pursuing a master’s degree in marriage and family therapy at Our Lady of the Lake University (Houston campus).

While at SAGU, Goodine led worship during chapel services. “Serving in chapel worship gave me opportunities to grow as a musician and a worship leader,” she says. She believes that her classroom and extracurricular training at SAGU prepared her for roles at the429, ACFM, and with INB.
