SAGU offers a MBAWaxahachie, Texas — February 11, 2014 — In December, Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) accrediting agency approved SAGU Harrison Graduate School's proposal to offer a Master of Business Administration. SAGU will offer courses in Fall 2014.

"We have had a reputable undergraduate business program for years, and during that time our business alumni continued to ask for an MBA program," said SAGU Harrison Graduate School Dean Robert Harden. "We are proud to offer an Executive MBA to our alumni and Christian constituency."

SAGU’s 36-hour MBA program will be a non-traditional online cohort. Courses will include Management Information Systems, Business Ethics, Managerial Decision Making, Global Business Economics, Organizational Strategy, Managerial Accounting, Applied Business Research, Organizational Behavior, Advanced Marketing Strategies, Business Leadership, Corporate Finance and Capstone or Thesis.

Business Department Chair Dr. LaSharnda Beckwith shared, "SAGU business faculty will work closely with students to equip them with business knowledge, the highest level of critical thinking/decision making skills, and social connectedness--essential strengths for employment and leaderships opportunities."

The Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC) reported in its 2013 Alumni Perspectives Survey that MBA graduates recouped an average of one-third of their financial investment in their MBA degree program immediately after graduation, and had a 100 percent return after four years.

The GMAC reported a 95% MBA employment rate in 2013, an increase of 8% from 2009. Additionally, the median starting annual salary for MBA degree-holders in 2013 was $100,000 compared to graduates only holding bachelor’s degrees whose annual salary was $45,000 (NACE).
