The Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) Volleyball team competed in a Monday night match up against Langston University. The Lady Lions were able to take down Langston in three straight sets (25-19), (25-16), (25-15). Nikki Almaguer stepped up and played as an outside hitter for the first time in her four-year career. She led the Lady Lions in kills, but, her presence on the floor for six rotations was a big part of the win. Both setters came in and played well for the Lady Lions assisting in a rotation that was hardly practice before tonight’s game; it was an all-around solid win for the Lady Lions.

  • “Langston University is a much-improved team. Their coach is doing an excellent job. Her girls played hard and competed very well. For us, we had to play tonight without Abby Wells who is nursing an injury, which means everyone had to step up. Our girls stepped up to the occasion and pulled out a win.”
