Waxahachie, Texas- January 22, 2016- The fall Sooner Athletic Conference (SAC) All-Academic Teams have been released and 21 Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) athletes have made the list. Three volleyball players, seven women’s soccer players, five men’s soccer players and six cross country athletes have all made the grades.
To be eligible for the SAC Academic All-Conference team, students must maintain a minimum 3.25 GPA during the previous two semesters and are regulars (letter winners) on their respective team.
47 student-athletes have earned their spot on the 2015 Academic All-Conference Volleyball team as presented by Cypress Risk Management. Three student-athletes from SAGU made the cut; Sara Kirk , Madison McClure , and Katie Ryan .
The SAC has 68 student-athletes that earned their spot on the 2015 Academic All-Conference Women’s Soccer team as presented by Cypress Risk Management. Four Lady Lions made the cut including; Gloria Lozano , Witney Burns , Leslie Paez and Sarah Porter.
48 student-athletes have earned their spot on the 2015 Academic All-Conference Men’s Soccer team as presented by Cypress Risk Management. Five student-athletes from SAGU made the list; Robert Ambrosie , Salvador Avila , Juan Cardenas , Danny Castro and Cesar Espana Quinanilla .
The Sooner Athletic Conference has announced45 student-athletes that have earned their spot on the 2015 Academic All-Conference Men’s and Women’s Cross Country team as presented by Cypress Risk Management . SAGU has five athletes to make the list; Kelly Cook , Destiny Garza , Moet Monroe , Jose Campos and Gerardo Nava .
