Biography
Dr. Gilbert, a graduate of Texas Tech University, served at a number of Bible schools for 30 years as missionary educator in Africa. He has also taught at Evangel University and the Assemblies of God Theological Seminary. He has filled diverse roles in these schools during his career: lecturer, administrator, curriculum-development specialist, and research consultant for students at both the masters and doctoral levels. He joined the faculty at SAGU in August 2015, where he now serves as the Doctor of Ministry program administrator and director of doctoral studies. He also serves on the Institutional Review Board.
He has published articles in the Journal of Pastoral Counseling, Journal of Psychology and Theology, Psychological Reports, Journal of College Student Personnel, and International Bulletin for Missionary Research . He served as lead editor (and author of several chapters) for both The Holy Spirit and Counseling (a two volume set: Hendrickson Publishers) and Missiological Research (© 2018, William Carey Library).
