Wendy Daugherty was raised in a family of classical musicians and has been playing violin since the age of 2. Upon the death of her father when she was 12, she taught herself to read the viola clef and this began her love of playing the viola. As a high school student, she had numerous opportunities to play with college orchestras, community orchestras, and semi-professional orchestras.

Mrs. Daugherty attended North Central University where she received her B.A. in Sacred Music. She recently completed her M.A. in Music Performance on the viola. Mrs. Daugherty has studied under notable violists Charles Gray, Korey Konkol, Dan Sigale, and Misha Galaganov.

Mrs. Daugherty has performed in the following groups: Cannon Valley Regional Orchestra, Rochester Symphony, Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra, Rapid City Regional Orchestra, and Mesquite Symphony. She has had opportunities to solo with many of these orchestras. She was second violin in the Manitou String Quartet for 14 years. Mrs. Daugherty has also taught private violin, viola, and piano lessons for 15 years. She is currently principal viola of the Fort Worth Civic Orchestra and Brazos Chamber Orchestra along with section viola in the Las Colinas Symphony.

In the past 20 years, Mrs. Daugherty has been very active in church music ministry. She has directed numerous children’s musicals, led adult choirs, functioned as the church pianist, participated vocally and instrumentally in worship teams and served in church orchestras.
