Working together for people, community and impact

By: Rick Bowles, Vice President, University Advancement

Our esteemed SAGU Alumni Council met recently to work with the Advancement/Alumni staff and strategize “all things SAGU alumni”. We want you to know that our Vision for this Alumni Association includes:

People

It has to be first about you. If we as a university and association show concern for you, it will help build a compelling reason for you to engage. We want you to know we care about you and want to look for opportunities for consistent engagement.

Community

It can’t be a one way street. We must create opportunities for two-way conversations using all available communication platforms.

Impact

What value are we offering to you that will inspire you to “pay if forward”? We hope that alumni who feel valued, who desire to be part of a community, and who have been impacted by their experiences at SAGU, will pay it forward through mentoring, volunteering and partnering.

Leadership

Alumni Council members include President Greg Thurstonson, SWA President Renee Davis, representatives from North Texas: Jeff Andersen, Taylor Choate and John Houston, Rocky Mountain: Scott and Linda Bottoms, South Texas: James & Ginger Carnell, Louisiana: Danny & Stephanie Baker, Kansas: Don Starnes, Alumni Coordinator: Heidi Halford & VP of Advancement: Rick Bowles.

Want to know more, we would appreciate hearing from you!
