Southwestern Women’s Auxiliary (SWA) was created in 1993 primarily for the beautification of the campus. SWA projects have included many of the campus improvements enjoyed today, as well as their ongoing commitment to support the University in its endeavour to equip students spiritually, academically, professionally, and cross-culturally for their God-given careers and callings.
Established by the ladies of Southwestern Women’s Auxiliary (SWA). Currently, half of all membership dues, and proceeds from SWA’s annual Pecan Sale Fundraiser go toward funding these awards, and increasing the endowment. Two scholarships are annually awarded to residential undergraduate female education students in their senior year. Recipients are only permitted to use the award during the semester in which they are student teaching. The award recipients are determined by the Donor Scholarships Committee, based on the predetermined criteria with preference for students who display financial need. SWA is currently raising funds to increase the endowment to provide a third fund which will be available to all female students, regardless of major. Upon completion of their goal, all three awards will be full funded in the endowment.
