Southwestern Assemblies of God University is authorized by the Department of Veterans Affairs to certify students enrolled in our degree programs for benefits under Chapter 33 (Post 9/11 G.I. Bill-Active Duty and Yellow Ribbon), Chapter 30 (Montgomery G.I. Bill – Active Duty), Chapter 31 (Vocational Rehabilitation), Chapter 35 (Veteran's Spouses or Dependents), Chapter 1606 (Selected Reserve), and Chapter 1607 (Reserve Educational Assistance Program). Eligibility and chapter is determined by the Department of Veterans Affairs (888.442.4551).

Texas Veterans Benefits/ Hazelwood Act

Applies to State of Texas Colleges, Texas State Universities or University of Texas campuses. SAGU is a private institution therefore you can not apply your Texas Veterans Benefits to SAGU. This includes MyCAA Spouses of DoD Active Duty members and federally activated members of the National Guard and Reserve Components are eligible. Eligible spouses can establish a MyCAA Account by visiting the MyCAA Website.

Vocational Rehabilitation (Chapter 31)

Certifying Officials

The Certifying Official for SAGU is responsible for the accurate and prompt certification of enrollments and changes in enrollment of eligible students to the VA. The certifying official is an employee of SAGU, not the VA. The certifying official cannot determine eligibility for VA Educational Benefits.
