SAGU is training the next generation of missionaries. This includes excellent academics as well as exposure to current field practice.

To achieve this, we have implemented a semester abroad. During the field experience, each Intercultural Studies major will spend a semester of “in-context experience.”

Note that students who are not Intercultural Studies majors but would like to study abroad or complete an internship can complete an edited version of this program.

How it Works

Students who are ICS majors study four courses online while abroad: Cross-cultural Ministries and Practices, Strategies for Multi-Ethnic Ministries, Evangelism and Discipleship, and Mentoring and Mobilizing Ministry Leaders. Each course is structured to enhance field experience with considerations pertaining to local culture.
