Master's Degree in English

The Master in English program is for those interested in teaching English at the college level, current secondary teachers pursuing credentials, or University students desiring to pursue a doctorate in English. The Master of English can propel the careers of hundreds of our alumni serving in multiple contexts and a wide range of industries around the country. Faith serves as the program’s primary foundation as philosophical and real-world issues are weighed by applying the standard of God’s Word. “In English courses, we don’t sidestep issues in whatever the focus of study is, whether in literature or writing–academic or creative,” says Professor Lewis.

“Our M.A. reinforces the English Department’s mission to qualify its majors to critically and thoughtfully engage contemporary culture with a sound apologetic sharpened by studies in literature and writing.” said Professor Diane Lewis, English Department Chair .
