Are you a natural helper? Are you someone who enjoys helping others? Do people seek you out for your advice or help? Do you love people? If the answer to one or all of those questions is yes, then a career in Social Work may be for you. Social work is a profession for those with a strong desire to help improve people's lives. Social workers assist people by helping them cope with and solve issues in their everyday lives, such as family problems, dealing with stressful changes in life, social issues and advocate for improved services for others.

Whether you are a prospective student, one of our alumni, or a friend interested in our school, I hope you will find interesting and useful information on these pages.  Our highly skilled faculty members have a wide variety of practice and experience, including child welfare, foster care, hospital social work, mental heath, substance abuse, health disparities, and poverty.

Our undergraduate program prepares students for generalist social work practice and for graduate study in social work and related fields.

We focus on

  • solving psychosocial problems
  • improving individual and social conditions
  • promoting justice and human dignity

We couple these things with an understanding of a Christian perspective.  I invite you to learn more about SAGU's degree in Social Work. Hope to see you on campus soon!
