Waxahachie, Texas–February 28th, 2018–Waxahachie, Texas:

The Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) Men’s Basketball program had three athletes selected for all conference. The following athletes are Cameron Hill, Josh Swearingin, and Jalen Petillo.

Cameron Hill was named the Sooner Athletic Conference Freshman of the Year. Swearingin and Pettilo were both named to All-Conference Honorable Mention Teams.

Head Coach Delton Deal said this about his 3 athletes:

“Cameron Hill has had an incredible year. He has spearheaded our attack all year and worked hard to earn this. I’m proud of him and his future is very bright!”

“Josh Swearingin has been an incredible senior leader for us. What he does both on and off the floor is invaluable and I’m lucky to have been able to coach his senior season. This was well earned.”

“Jalen Petillo is a special talent who has been our anchor on the defensive end and continues to grow daily. His joyful spirit is one of a kind and I’m so happy that the conference has seen and recognized his value to our team.”

As for stats on these players:

Cameron Hill is ranked 29 ^th in Division 1 NAIA with a Free Throw Pct of 0.828% (111-133). He also was 42% from the paint by making 140-330 field goals, 31.3% from the 3-point line. He capped off his regular season with 431 points at an average of 15.39 points per game.

Josh Swearingin is 45.3% from field goal range making in 101-223, 29.4% from 3-point making in 20-68 shots, and 72.4% from free throw making in 71-98. Swearingin caps of the season with 293 points at an average of 10.46 per game.

Jalen Petillo is ranked 35 ^th in Division 1 NAIA in blocks per game with an average of 1.154 per game. Petillo is also ranked 42 ^nd in total blocks with a total of 30. Jalen is 55.2% from the paint with 91 shots made of his 165, 32.1% form 3-point with 9-28, and 60.8% from free throws with a total of 31-51. Petillo caps off his regular season with a total of 222 points at an average of 8.54 per game.
