Waxahachie, Texas – March 13, 2018 – The Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) football team has added a big matchup to its 2018 Football schedule. SAGU will visit the Crusaders of Evangel University . The game is to be played at Tiger Stadium in Ozark, Missouri.

SAGU finished last season ranked number 19 in the NAIA Top 25 Poll and the Crusaders finished the season ranked number 25. The game will be played on Thursday, August 23 ^rd at 6:00 PM. This will be the season-opener for both teams and will be televised nationally on ESPN 3 and the Watch ESPN app.

Jesse Godding , SAGU Athletic Director, said “SAGU is excited about the opportunity to play Evangel University. Opening the season with a matchup of Top 25 teams from 2018 on ESPN 3 will give fans of both teams a great start to the football season.”

SAGU and Evangel University are two of the three Assemblies of God Universities playing football in the NAIA. The game will be sponsored by the Assemblies of God Credit Union.
