Brownwood, Texas- March 2, 2016- The Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) baseball team dropped a non-conference game to Howard Payne University , 3-1.  The Lions are now 9-12 and HPU is currently 5-3.

SAGU’s Ty Chiglo started on the mound and pitched four innings.  In 15 at bats, he had three strike outs and two hits. Collin Gifford , Caleb Carnell , Auston Moore and Anthony Montalvo all pitched one inning in the nine inning contest.

HPU scored one run in the bottom of the third when Garret scored on an unearned run.

In the top of the seventh, HPU committed two errors that the Lions were able to capitalize on. Tallon Ralstin got on base after a single to shortstop. Jake Killion was able to hit Ralstin in for SAGU’s one run of the game.

The Yellow Jackets went on to score in the seventh and eighth innings with the end score being 3-1.

Griffin Glenn and Maverick Keffer each went two for four.  Ralstin was one for one with one run.

SAGU will begin Sooner Athletic Conference play when they host Oklahoma City University for a three-game home stand March 4-5, 2016.  OCU is currently 11-7.
