Waxahachie, Texas – January 20, 2017 – Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) will soon have a new addition to the campus. Southwestern Women’s Auxilary (SWA) plans to install a ceremonial bench to honor all of the couples who have met and gotten married during their time at SAGU.

Beverly Robinson, SWA Officer and Director of Career Services, says that the bench will be “a tribute to the couples who met and fell in love at SAGU. ” She went on to say “there’s no pressure, but there’s no better place to meet your spouse than in a Christian environment” and that this bench will be a symbol of “the value of a Christian marriage. An encouragement.”

The bench’s inscription will read “To Those Who Fell in Love at SAGU.”

The bench will be a welcomed addition to SAGU’s campus culture. It will reside just right of the brick walkway directly in front of the Sheaffer Center and will serve as both an encouragement for incoming students and an honor for returning alumni. This bench is only part of the continuing campus beautification efforts of SWA.

Devin Ferguson, Director of Alumni Relations, says, ““For the countless couples who met and fell in love at SAGU, the project provides a unique opportunity to commemorate the special place that the University holds within their hearts and within their love story.”

The bench will be supported completely by couples who are interested in funding this project. SWA would like for couples who have met and fell in love at SAGU to consider donating to the completion of this project.

Donors will be acknowledged.
