Kissimmee, Florida – December 2 nd , 2017 — The Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) volleyball team was defeated in three sets against Biola University (BU ) in the semi-finals of the NCCAA National tournament (25-15, 26-24, 25-17). Biola would go on to win the NCCAA National Championship later that day.

Seniors, Jessica Sodich and Paulyae Dawkins, were nominated as NCCAA 1 st Team All-American and sophomore setter Sophia Ivy was named to the NCCAA 2 nd Team All-American.

The Lady Lions were led by Kali Shaw, who had a double-double with 12 kills and 11 digs.  Jessica Sodich followed with eight kills and eight digs. Paulyae Dawkins followed with four kills.  Sophia Ivy had 23 assists and Celi Bruce had 19 digs for the Lady Lions.

Head Coach Hank Moore’s final comments for the season, “It was great to have all the individual players recognized for their accomplishments but what was even better was to see how God was glorified and worked through the lives of these young ladies all season.”
