Ballah leads RRAC in assists

WAXAHACHIE, Texas -- Six games into the new men's soccer season and optimism reigns for players on the Southwestern Assemblies of God University team. With a quick-strike offense and a speedy line-up, the Lions are much improved.

The squad has five different players who have scored through six games. James Swearingen (Arlington, Tx / Home School), Jonathan Segundo (Red Oak, Tx / Red Oak HS) and Jonathan Ballah (Charlotte, NC / Independence HS) each have a pair of scores, while Bryan King (Springfield, Mo / Kickapoo HS) and Brenden Kowalski (Tomball, Tx / Tomball HS) have solo tallies.

Those who have assisted on those goals include Ballah, with three; Segundo and Swearingen with two and Samuel Cabrera (Tampa, Fla / Hillsborough Community College) with one. Ballah (BAH-luh) is tops in the RRAC with three.

Freshman goalie Cesar Galvan (Dallas, Tx / Lovejoy HS) allows only 1.29 goals per game. He has a shutout in his six-game resume.
