Contact Teams Spend Summer Overseas
Every year, the Southwestern Missions Association (SMA) sends teams of students to minister around the globe. With the new structure and renaming
to “Contact Trips,” students now spend three
weeks in each location rather than the single week
that was previously available during Spring Break.
According to Kenya leader Danelle Ham, “The
longer trip enabled us to learn more about the
culture and bond with the people more effectively.
You learn so much about people when you are
immersed in their culture and are able to build
lasting relationships.” LA team leader Lauren
Thrash added, “I loved the fact that because it was summer we were able to spend a longer time with the people and get to know them better. It added depth to our trip.”
