What Are Online Courses Like?
We use a state of the art program to deliver courses online called Blackboard. All courses are web-based and can be accessed from any computer 24 hours a day. Here's what you'll find in a typical online course:
- Save assignments to your computer and upload them for grading
- Professors give comments and feedback about assignments
- Complete all exams and quizzes without needing a proctor
- Chat with other students and instructors through an online discussion board
- View video lectures from your professor
- Access PowerPoint notes for each lecture
- 24/7 technical support available
How Do Online Lectures Work?
Our goal is to bring you the latest in educational technology in order to enhance your distance education experience to its fullest potential. We use a program called Tegrity that allows us to stream a video and audio recording of each course lecture along with a PowerPoint presentation that is synchronized with the lecture. Much of the instruction between the teaching staff and students takes place through course lectures. The format of each course varies, but all courses have a bulletin board or chat room to foster dialogue among students and professors.
