SAGU men’s basketball player Rishaad Alexander received NAIA All-American Honorable Mention. Alexander is one of only 51 players nationwide to make the team as honorable mention.

Alexander is a 5’10 guard from Chicago, Illinois. Alexander has played the last two seasons for SAGU after transferring his junior season from Milwaukee Tech College. As a senior he led SAGU to a 20-13 record and a NAIA National Championship berth.

“Rishaad is very deserving of this honor,” says head coach Donnie Bostwick, “He is one of the hardest working and most unselfish players I have ever coached, which is evident in the fact that he was 5th in the NAIA with over six assists per game. He is also an All-American off the court with great character and faith. I am very proud and thankful that God sent Rishaad to SAGU."

For the 2015-2016 season, Alexander averaged over 12 points per game with a season high of 28 points against Oklahoma City University. Against Southwestern Christian, he had a season high 13 assists.

Over his college career, Alexander dished out over 700 assists and scored over 1,300 points. In the past two years he has 277 assists with only 99 turnovers.

In addition to his NAIA All-American honor, Alexander was named to the Sooner Athletic Conference second team.
