Waxahachie, Texas- July 19, 2015- The Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) football coaches, along with a handful of players, hosted over 100 kids from Life Church (Midlothian, Texas) in a game-day challenge.
“Coach Tristan and his team helped us show the love of Christ to the kids. I am proud to be a Lion. SAGU invested in my life and I wanted to let me university do the same for the kids. We wanted to give them a glimpse of hope and that college is something that is obtainable,” says Life Church Kid’s Pastor Amy Urbanowicz.
Life Church kids made the afternoon trip to SAGU as part of their Day Camp. In the morning session kids have a jam-packed church service where children discover and grow in their relationship with God and in the afternoon the kids take a wild field trip to places all around DFW.
At SAGU, Life Kids first participated in a scavenger hunt around then campus and then went to the athletic fields and played various games provided by the Game-Day Challenge Ministry. The kids played flag-tag, human frogger, crazy three ball and had parachute races.
“On the bus ride home multiple students said that this was the best day camp field trip ever,” says Urbanowicz, “A big thanks to SAGU for making an impact on the kids of Life Church.”
