Vice President for Enrollment & Retention said, "We always look forward to hosting PK’s and youth leaders from across our region. SAGU believes in supporting our ministers’ families."
Students began the retreat Saturday night at Lakeview Camp and Conference Center in Maypearl, Texas. SAGU hosted the campers Sunday morning for a church service in the new Hagee Communications Center with SAGU's traveling ministry group, The Call, leading worship and Josiah Sullivan delivering the message.
Concluding the service, participants divided into 10 groups and toured the SAGU campus highlighting the Sheaffer Center, Hagee Communication Center, Farmer Administration building, Wellness Center and on-campus student housing.
Following the tour, SAGU hosted the PK’s for lunch in the Sheaffer Center cafeteria. PK’s were then transported to Six Flags where they spent the rest of the day. Davis said, "Providing this retreat allows students to create a special memory with peers that reminds them that there are other kids growing up in the same situation as they are and that they are loved."
As a part of the event, SAGU gave each PK a commemorative T-shirt and provided a Six Flags ticket and meal voucher. Several PK’s won gift cards and other prices and one lucky PK was given a $4,000 scholarship to SAGU. The retreat concluded with a time of worship and a Q&A session Monday morning at Lakeview Camp and Conference Center.
