World Communication Center Update
In April 2012, President Bridges led groundbreaking ceremonies on the site of the new World Communication Center. Construction began the day after. Since April 26, 3i construction has maintained a rigorous production schedule.
Through a webcam and regular updates, friends and alumni have watched progress from afar. As of the end of March 2013, all external construction has been completed. Sheathing has been completed, and brickwork is underway.
Meanwhile, internal construction continues as SAGU races toward a Fall 2013 grand opening. Departments will begin relocating to the new facility in August.
The WCC will house a performance arts auditorium, black box theater, TV and film studio, audio recording studio, digital video editing lab and suites, piano lab, music library and listening lab, music practice rooms, classrooms, rehearsal halls, film screening/preaching and speech labs, offices, concessions, a café, workshops, dressing rooms and more.
