NTD All-Church Ministries Convention Speakers
Dr. Garland Owensby
Garland Owensby serves as professor and coordinator of the Youth and Student Ministries department at Southwestern Assemblies of God University. He is a contributor to many youth ministry publications and is also a frequent speaker at youth conferences, conventions, camps, and churches. He also travels as a stand-up comedian.
Dr. Clancy Hayes
Clancy Hayes serves as Associate Professor of Bible and Theology. Before coming to SAGU, he served as national training coordinator for Christian education at the headquarters of the General Council of the Assemblies of God. He has also served two Assemblies of God Congregations. He taught for over a decade as an adjunct instructor at Evangel University. He has written or contributed to eight books, the latest Reach All Your Students, in addition to various articles and curriculum products. Professor Hayes loves to interact with students and help them in their spiritual formation process. His wife, Rachel, and grown children and grandson are the highlight of his life.
Dr. Adonna Otwell
Dr. Adonna Otwell has post-Doctoral hours from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and Assemblies of God Theological Seminary. She is an ordained minister with the Assemblies of God. Adonna is a long standing faculty member at SAGU and is a professor of Bible and Physical Education. She is an experienced conference and seminar speaker. She served as the first faculty representative on the Administrative Committee here at SAGU.
Dr. LeRoy Bartel
Dr. LeRoy Bartel is a native of western Montana and has been married his wife Sharon for 43 years. They have four children, (three of which are adopted Native Americans), six grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Dr. Bartel received his bachelor’s degree from Trinity Bible College, Ellendale ND and a master of divinity degree and doctorate from the Assemblies of God Theological Seminary, Springfield, MO. Dr. Bartel has pastored for over 20 years and has served the General Council of the Assemblies of God as a denominational officer for 5 years. He held the position of National Director for the Division of Christian Education and the denominations first Commissioner on Discipleship. As National Director he provided leadership for the Sunday School Department, Church School Literature, Children’s Ministries Agency, Christian School Department, and Single Adult Ministries Agency. As Commissioner on Discipleship, Rev Bartel helped coordinate all of the discipleship initiatives, ministries and agencies of the Assemblies of God in a networking relationship. Dr. Bartel presently serves as Dean of the College of Bible and Church Ministries at Southwestern Assemblies of God University, Waxahachie, TX.
