Oklahoma City, Ok – October 10, 2015- The Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) women’s soccer team lost a heartbreaker to Texas Wesleyan University (TWU). The Lady Rams topped the Lions 2-1 in the Sooner Athletic Conference (SAC) match.  This was the first time in history that SAGU has scored a goal against TWU.

Twenty four minutes into the game, Laura Barba drives down the left side line and passes the ball backward to Nadine Jaimes, who then rockets a shot from outside of the 18. The shot bounced off the goalies gloves and then hit the cross bar and bounced.  For the first time ever, the Lions led TWU, 1-0.

With 19:15 left in the second half, Texas Wesleyan scores off of a free kick about 10 yards outside the center of the box.  After that goal, the score was tied 1-1.

The Lady Rams were able to score the winning goal with 8:13 left in the game.  TWU scored once again off of a free kick that was headed in.

SAGU is still enjoying their most winning season in school history.  They are currently 7-6 overall and 1-3 in the Sooner Athletic Conference.  On Saturday, October 17, 2015, SAGU will host Wayland Baptist University at 1:00pm.  WBU is currently 2-5-3 overall and 1-1-2 in the SAC.
