Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) softball team Cheyenne Fults

Head coach Sarah Harman is pleased to add onto an already large incoming roster, “I’m really excited that Cheyenne is committed to our program and wants to help build on it.  She has a very successful softball background and will add depth at third base.  She will also bring a lot of power with her bat.”

Fults, who is a Waxahachie native, will be a sophomore-transfer from Louisiana Monroe.  While at Waxahachie High School, she was a four-year Frist Team All-District letter winner.  She also received First Team All-Academic honors her junior and senior seasons.  As a senior, Fults batted .469 while hitting seven homeruns and 39 RBI’s for the Lady Indians.

According to Fults, SAGU was a clear choice for her to transfer to, “SAGU was the right fit for me because it’s close to home and family is really important to me.  Also, SAGU has a sports management major.  Finally, I get to play softball while strengthening my relationship with Christ.  I felt like not only was SAGU the right fit for me but I felt like it is where I was meant to end up.”

Looking ahead to the 2017 season, Fults has set a personal goal of making an impact in the SAGU batting lineup, “An individual goal is to never have two bad at bats in a row.  I also want to gain something positive from every practice and game.  My team goal is to help the team in any way possible so we can all have a winning season.  Having a good season can only set us up for greatness and build our program for seasons to come.”

Fults will be one of 11 new signees for the Lady Lions.  She will join Rachel Ray, Adriana Alonzo, Brittany Livingston, Danielle Etter, Kayla Milstead, Savannah Watson, Destinee Vindiola, Kaili Jo Williams, Natalie Weaver and Baylee McBrannon , who have all signed letters of intent.
