Waxahachie, Texas – November 7, 2016 – The Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) football team officially played their last game of the season Saturday against Texas College .  Now, SAGU quarterback Romeo Balboa has been named as the Central States Football League (CSFL) Offensive Player-of-the-Week.

“Romeo did a great job of being prepared and stepped right in and improved every game.  You could tell by the way the receivers played that they trusted that he would make the right decision in delivering the ball,” explains head coach Frank Tristan .

Against Texas College he completed 21-of-36 passes and threw for 375 yards.  He had four passing touchdowns and two rushing touchdowns.  Balboa was responsible for all of SAGU’s touchdowns but two.  He also had no interceptions against the Steers.

Balboa, a 6’1 sophomore from Grand Prairie , Texas, started the final three games for the Lions.  He also led SAGU to a victory over Bacone College the week before.  Against Bacone, Balboa went nine for 19 for 116 yards and zero interceptions.
