SAGU head cross country coach Jason Covarrubias believes Nava is very-deserving of the honor, “I have never met an athlete who can run effortlessly yet train so hard!  Jerry is one of a kind and truly a natural leader.  It’s called a God-send.”

The converted soccer player was the first male runner from SAGU to compete in the NAIA  Marathon National Championship.  He finished 14 th overall.
