Waxahachie, Texas – May 19, 2017 – Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) was recently ranked in the “Most Affordable Online Colleges for a Bachelor’s in Teaching” for 2017.
This set of rankings represents online schools across the nation that are making an effort to provide economical options for students seeking a variety education-based degree. With exceptional affordability, SAGU ranked in at number eighteen on the list. Students who graduate from SAGU graduate with 20% less debt than other private universities.
SAGU offers a bachelor’s degree in teaching education for elementary students. This degree also leads toward Texas teacher certification. The department offers a flexible, online curriculum in which students can concentrate in teaching Social Studies, Science, Math and Creative Writing for elementary. Students have access to a variety of courses including Theories and Principles of Learning, Advanced Communication Arts and Instructional Technology.
Students will learn to design and implement elementary instruction and assessment based on state curriculum guidelines and develop appropriate classroom management strategies. Coursework in the program is 100% online.
In addition, new Education majors earning a degree on campus will receive a $1,000 scholarship per year ($500 each semester), renewable for the length of their degree. Recipients must maintain GPA and major eligibility requirements.
Alongside SAGU, SR Education Group listed schools such as University of West Florida, Hope International University and Hobe Sound Bible College.
