Waxahachie, Texas – June 29, 2016 – Southwestern Assemblies of God University’s (SAGU) 73-acre historic campus ranked #13 on Theology Degree’s “30 Most Beautiful Christian Campuses” list.

SAGU was featured along with 30 other highly respected institutions such as Wheaton College , Regent University and Franciscan University of Steubenville .

The campus blends the nobility of the Farmer Administration Building , a registered historic landmark constructed in 1901 recognized for its majestic construction that dates back to the early 1900s, with expansive new amenities in the additions of the Garrison Wellness Center (GWC) and Hagee Communication Center (HCC) .

The HCC houses a 600-seat performing arts auditorium and an Einstein Bros. Bagels. The new eatery offers a full selection of breakfast, lunch and dinner menu items beyond the traditional bagel. The new venue also provides a new place for campus family and the local community to work and study while enjoying hot and cold coffees, smoothies and more.

The GWC has become a key resource for athletic camps. The 32,000-square-foot building provides an indoor basketball court, track, junior Olympic-style pool, racquetball courts, weights and cardio equipment.

In addition to the Administration Building, SAGU’s on-campus historical buildings include Nelson Memorial Library that was originally founded at Southwestern Bible School in Enid, Oklahoma , but moved to Waxahachie in 1943. It was named after P. C. Nelson , a former president from 1927 to 1942, who is the founder of SAGU. He also collected 30,000 volumes that established the library.

Another historical building is the Collins Dormitory named after Rev. M. E. Collins who was president from 1947 to 1960, and the Claxton Gymnasium .
