Waxahachie, Texas- October 20, 2015- For the third time this season, Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) football player Chadd Dearen has been named the Central States Football League (CSFL) Special Teams Player of the Week .  This is the third time this year Dearen has received the honor.

Dearen scored eight points and tallied more than 600 yards in punts and kickoffs, while SAGU was edged out by Langston University in a 23-20 game.  Dearen had a long field goal of 34-yards.  He also averaged 43.9 yards per punt on seven punts, with a long punt of 59 yards.  He had five kick-offs that averaged 60.6 yards.

Last week, Dearen was named the NAIA Special Teams Player of the Week .  The junior from Rowlett, Texas , helped to lead the Lions to a 47-7 win against Lyon College. He converted four-of-four field goals, three of which were 35-yards or greater, including a season-long 47-yard attempt.

He also ran for nine yards on a fake field goal against Lyon, gaining the first down for the Lions.  Dearen punted three times for 120 yards, including a long of 63 yards.  Against LC, he tallied 612 yards on 10 kick-off attempts.

Currently, Dearen ranks no. four in the NAIA in total field goals (10).  He also ranks no. five in the NAIA in total scoring (kicking) with 58 points for the season and ranks no. eight in scoring per game (kicking), averaging 8.3 points per game.

On Saturday, October 24 th , 2015 SAGU will host Wayland Baptist University .  WBU is currently 3-3 overall and 1-1 in the SAC.  The game will be broadcast on SAGU Sports Network.
