Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) women’s basketball Oklahoma City University Sooner Athletic Conference

The first quarter went in SAGU’s favor.  The Lady Lions started the game with a made basket by Laken Ward and then led throughout the quarter.  With 22 seconds left in the first, OCU’s Allison Frey made a basket to take the two point lead, 14-12.

Charity Page started the second quarter by making two free throws to tie the game at 14.  From that point on, OCU stayed in the lead.

In the second half, the Lady Stars had a double digit lead throughout.  The only time SAGU was able to pull within nine points was after Alexis McAfee made a basket from the wing and was fouled in the process.  She followed-up with one made free throw to make the score 42-33 with 2:32 left in the third quarter.

SAGU’s Charity Page led the Lady Lions with 12 points and eight rebounds. Lexi Rich added 10 points. Laken Ward had eight points and nine rebounds.

Daniela Wallen , the NAIA’s leading scorer, led all-scorers with 32 points and pulled in 12 rebounds.

The Lady Lions will travel to Chickasha, Oklahoma on Monday, January 9, 2017 to play University of Science & Arts-Oklahoma. USAO is currently 4-7 overall with a 2-1 SAC record.  Game time is at 6pm.
