Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) baseball Our Lady of the Lake

Game One (L 17-3)

At the end of the first inning, Our Lady of the Lake led the Lions 2-1.  With two outs, SAGU’s Ethan Greiner doubled (over the left field fence). Griffin Glenn singled to left field, scoring Greiner.  The inning ended with one left on base.

Our Lady of the Lake picked up two more runs in the top of the second, but their biggest inning came in the top of the third when they scored nine runs off of seven hits and zero SAGU errors.

In the bottom of the fourth SAGU scored one run after Derrick Clement hit a single, scoring Anthony Montalvo .  The Lions final run came in the bottom of the seventh.  On a 0-0 count, Griffin Glenn hit a home run over the left field fence.

For game one, Glenn was three for four at the plate with two RBI’s and one run scored.

Starting with Ty Chiglo on the mound for SAGU, the Lions went through four other pitchers.

Our Lady of the Lakes’ Caleb Mireles picked up the win.

Game Two (L 6-2)

Although closer than the first game, the Lions still couldn’t find their stride.  SAGU was able to score one run in both the bottom of the third and fourth inning.

In the third, SAGU’s Anthony Montalvo singled thru a hole at short stop. Chris Wallace hit a sacrifice fly to left field, scoring Montalvo.  The Lions left two stranded on base.

In the fourth, Raul Castro was driven in by an Anthony Montalvo single to shallow center field.

The Lions will resume Sooner Athletic Conference (SAC) play on Friday, April 7, 2017, when they host Wayland Baptist University .  WBU is currently 16-19 for the season.
