Plainview, Texas- February 25, 2016- The Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) women’s basketball team lost to Wayland Baptist University , 73-35.  WBU is currently ranked no. 14 in the NAIA  and number one in the Sooner Athletic Conference (SAC).  SAGU is currently number in a two-way tie for fourth place.

The first quarter was the only time the game was close.  SAGU was able to keep within single digits until the last minute of the quarter when WBU’s Jade Jones made a basket to extend the score to 17-6.

By halftime, WBU had extended their lead to 20 with a score of 36-16.

The Lady Lions shot 12% from the three point line, going two-for-17.

SAGU’s Charity Page had a double/double.  She had 15 points and 10 rebounds. Dy’Teesha Diggles had eight rebounds.

WBU’s Jade Jones scored 20 points and had 10 rebounds.

On Saturday, February 27, 2016, Hill, SAGU will honor their three seniors before the 3pm tip-off against Mid-America Christian.  Earlier in the season, SAGU topped MACU, 75-68.  The game will be broadcast live HERE .
