Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) baseball Texas Wesleyan

Going into the top of the sixth, the game was close and SAGU was trailing TWU 3-0.  However, TWU was able to come up with eight runs in the sixth, partly thanks to two well-timed and well-placed home runs.    The Rams had seven hits coupled with two SAGU errors.

TWU’s first home run in the sixth was by Caden Williams when he hit a three run home run over the left field fence on a 0-0 count.  Next, on another 0-0 count, Julio Ibarra hit a three run home run over the left field fence.

TWU’s Stephen Yancey earned the win on the mound, pitching all seven innings.  The Lions went through four pitchers including Spenser Hart , Taylor Evans , Ty Behinger and Tyler Warren .

SAGU had only seven hits and lead-off hitter Josh Terry went a perfect 3-for-3 at the plate.

SAGU will continue their series at Texas Wesleyan on Saturday, April 22, 2017.  Game one of the doubleheader is at 1pm.
