Oklahoma City, Oklahoma- October 10, 2015- The Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) volleyball team topped Mid-America Christian University (MACU) in five sets.  The Lady Lions won the second, third and fifth sets (15-25, 25-20, 25-23, 24-26, 15-11).  SAGU is now in fourth place in the Sooner Athletic Conference (SAC) with a record of 5-3.

The Lady Lions were missing two starting hitters, but according to head coach Hank Moore , other players stepped up in a big way, “Our three seniors Paschall, Ryan and Smith did a great job of leading our team tonight. After losing three matches in a row, winning tonight in the fashion that we won, was very rewarding.”

SAGU was led by Kali Shaw with 23 kills, hitting at a .354 percentage.  Sophomore Summer Skillern followed with 19 kills.  Both Shaw and Skillern had career highs.

Katie Ryan played all the way around as an outside hitter.  She also had a career high in digs with 23. Senior Emmalee Smith added 18 digs.  Senior Caitlin Paschall had another double/double with an impressive 49 assists and 17 digs.

Currently, the Lady Lions are now ranked no. two in the NAIA in digs per game.  They average 20.5 digs per game.

Mid-America Christian falls to 2-6 in the SAC.  On Saturday, October 10, 2015, SAGU will take on Oklahoma City at 12:00pm.
