Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) volleyball Mid-America Christian University

MACU (25-21, 25-12, 23-25, 25-21)

The Lady Lions won their first Sooner Athletic Conference (SAC) match of the season against the Lady Evangels.  SAGU’s Sophia Ivy l ed the way with 42 assist. Kali Shaw had 19 kills and 12 digs. Paulyea Dawkins had 14 kills on just 24 swings and zero errors.

“Dawkins hit an impressive 0.583!  She also had seven blocks in what was by far her best match of the season,” says SAGU head coach Hank Moore .

Celi Bruce led the defense with 18 digs. Bojana Vukadinovic added nine digs and four serving aces.  After the game against MACU, Vukadinovic ranks no. two in the NAIA in total service aces for the season (34).

CRC (25-22, 25-23, 22-25, 26-16)

SAGU was able to sweep today’s series with a win over Crowley’s Ridge. Kali Shaw had another double/double with 13 kills and 15 digs. Brittany Stallaby had 19 assists and Madison McClure added 15 assist.

The Lady Lions are now 8-4 for the season.  On Friday, September 9, 2016 the Lady Lions will host Our Lady of the Lake at 7pm.  On Saturday, SAGU will host another tri-match with Wayland Baptist at 11am and Oklahoma Wesleyan at 3pm.
