Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) women’s soccer Sooner Athletic Conference Wayland Baptist

The first half remained scoreless despite SAGU’s five shots and WBU’s six.

Near the 60 th minute of play, SAGU’s Nadine Jaimes was the first to score off of a breakaway goal, shot over the goalies head.

10 minutes later, WBU’s Chelsea Beaudouef scored.  Only two minutes after that, Beaudouef assisted Gabrielle Munoz in a goal.  The Lady Pioneers took the lead, 2-1.

With only two seconds left in the game, SAGU’s Jaimes was able to draw the goalie out of her box and get a shot off, unfortunately, WBU’s Bailey Stengler was able to get the save.

Jaimes scored her 13 th goal of the season against WBU.  That ranks her no. five in the NAIA for total goals scored.

SAGU’s goalkeeper Kathleen Espinoza had six saves for the Lady Lions.

Up next, the Lady Lions will travel to play University of Science & Arts-Oklahoma on Friday, September 30, 2016.  Game time is at 5pm.
