Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) women’s soccer National Christian College Athletics Association’s (NCCAA) All-Central Regional Team

SAGU junior Nadine Jaimes was named to the first-team. Natalie Solorio was honored with a second-team placement. Kathleen Espinoza , Sarah Porter and Laura (Barba) Sturgeon all made honorable mention.

First year head coach Paul Hason is happy that his player’s hard work is paying off, “I’m excited for and proud of each of the players who were recognized.  They played to the best of their ability to glorify God as well as represent their team and the SAGU community.”

Jaimes had a banner season.  She led the Lady Lions, as well as the Sooner Athletic Conference, in goals scored with 20.  She also led in shots on goal with 50 for the season.  Jaimes ranks no. 12 in the NAIA in total goals scored.

On top of being the leading scorer for SAGU, the junior from Mesquite, Texas , also led the team in assists (5) and shots (88).

Natalie Solorio is a freshman midfielder from Dallas, Texas.  Solorio played in all 18 games and scored six goals in her debut season. She had 14 shots on goal and three assists.

SAGU finished the season 9-9 overall.

The NCCAA Central-Region honors had 34 student-athletes on the list, 13 who made the first team.  The full list is as follows.
