SAGU Offers New Financial Aid Opportunities
Waxahachie, TX – May 4, 2011 – Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) will offer new financial aid opportunities for Fall 2011.
SAGU has increased overall scholarships by 115% and doubled financial aid distribution since 2000. Vice President of Enrollment and Retention Eddie Davis shares, “In order to make education more affordable, SAGU makes a continued effort to increase scholarships and grants. SAGU students have a 22% lower loan debt after graduation than the national average of private, non-profit, 4-year universities.”
SAGU Financial Aid has created a need-based grant that will be available to those students who have reduced Federal Pell Grant funding or cannot receive the Federal Pell Grant. Students may be eligible for $500 – $1,000 annually depending on their Expected Family Contribution (EFC) upon the completion of the Federal Application For Student Aid (FAFSA). “All grants up to this point have been merit-based. This is the first institutional need-based grant in SAGU History,” says Senior Director of Financial Aid Jeff Francis.
Women’s fast-pitch softball will be added as a university club sport this fall and will be offered on a varsity level Fall 2012. However, varsity scholarships are available to select players for Fall 2011.
